Vision
To be an effective change agent in the impoverished rural Nyara Villages area, in the Eastern Cape, focusing on youth development and digital inclusion.
Mission
To create transformation and equalize access to opportunity; stretching mindsets to be aligned to 21st century thinking and help marginalized youth to enter the South African economic stream.
Activities
Nyara Youth Development is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We work on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and are very proud of the progress we continue to make. Food Relief
At Nyara Youth Development, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Poverty Eradication is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
GBV Awareness &
Women Empowerment
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in vulnerable position. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Library
Most of the schools in the Nyara Villages area don't have library access and Nyara Youth Development aim to solve that problem by building our own in house library catering for Primary and High School students. We invite you help us make a difference in these learners literacy and donate books or your time to read to them.
Skills Development
Workshops
With this initiative, our goal is to promote 21st Century skills upliftment for those living in Nyara Villages. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential and join the South African economic stream. Social Change through Sport

Digital Literacy & Rural Wi-Fi Connectivity
With this initiative, our goal is to promote greater opportunities for those in Nyara that don't have access to Computers in this digital age. By providing digital and WIFI access to this village we will be bridging the divide between rural and 21st Century thinking. Counseling & Psycho-social Support
At Nyara Youth Development, we are working on offerering preventative & post counseling for drug abuse, substance abuse, physical abuse and trauma. We also offer psycho-social support for career guidance, gender equality, depression and anxiety. Learn more ways of how you can get involved...

This is NYD's backbone and our success is based on our collaborative skill set and joint team effort. Each of us are specialists in our field and come from different backgrounds. When we come together and put our expertise to use, we make magic happen! We are passionate about social impact and make sure that our programs are grassroots driven. We always open to conversation and collaboration with like-minded people.

Internationally Supported
Award-Winning
We were awarded in September 2021 to partake on the Accelerator program on the Global Giving platform and managed to raise a target of $5324 and are now able to continue raising funds on this platform!
National Prize Winning
We were awarded R18000 in prize money from the NYS Challenge in July 2021 funded by the National Youth Development Agency for being the top 100 newly developed and very impactful youth initiatives.
International Grant Winner
We were awarded $1000 from The Pollination Project in September 2021. The Pollination Project is a global community of nearly 4,220 grassroots changemakers in 119 countries. Every day, they invest in early stage projects and individuals who seek to create a more sustainable, peaceful, and compassionate world. We were lucky enough to be one of them!
Inspiration Award Winner
Nyara Youth Development was lucky enough to be one of East London's Inspiration Award Winners! Selected by The Border-Kei Chamber of Commerce for being one of the new and innovative Nonprofit Organisations making an impact in our rural community. The awards took place on the 8th July 2022 and we were truly honored to be there.
